Driving past the old medieval town of Orte perched on top of cliffs you will stop in Orvieto and walk on your own through the old center. You may enter the Gothic Cathedral with a frescoed Last Judgement to rival Michelangelo's, fine art galleries, and artisan shops featuring locally made crafts, especially ceramics. After about an hour's drive, you will be in Tuscany onward to the historical center of Montepulciano. You will be given time to explore at your leisure the cobblestoned streets, to admire noble residences, medieval churches, fortifications, and City Hall square with the high bell tower. Wine tasting is held inside an ancient cellar.
